Meeting the Queen

On 13th March, 2006 after playing for the Commonwealth Service at St Andrew's Cathedral, which was broadcast live nationally on the ABC in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabether II, the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Edward, I was invited to Admiralty House (the Sydney residence of the Australian Governor General) to a luncheon with Her Majesty. After lunch I was introduced to the Queen and Duke and was able to chat with both of them. The Queen shook my hand.

This was the second time I had performed for the Queen and Duke, the first time being in March 1992 for a Sunday morning service they attended in St Andrew's Cathedral, Sydney.

Below are some photos of me with the Queen and Prime Minister of Australia, Mr John Howard, taken in the grounds of Admiralty House (13/3/2006).

Below are some photos of Her Majesty arriving at the Cathedral with the Prime Minister for the Annual Commonwealth Day Service.
